Day Two: (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.) Keynote Speaker, Professional Development Sessions, Awards Ceremony

 

Deadlines

  • All active member chapters will receive a link to register for the Ohio conference starting December 1, 2023 through February 2, 2024.

  • December 1, 2023 - Conference registration opens up for all Active Members

  • February 2, 2024 - Final day to register for conference and competitions (Prejudged AND Not Prejudged)

  • February 2, 2024 - Deadline to submit pre-judged competition materials and videos. The following competitions require competitors to submit materials ahead of time. This information can also be found here.

Reminder: Each student submitting materials for competitions and contests must have an ACTIVE membership account with Educators Rising (national) and Educators Rising Ohio.

 

State Conference FAQs

  • When is the conference?

    • Monday, March 4th (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and Tuesday, March 5th (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.), 2024

  • How much does it cost?

    • $50.00 per person

  • Can we pay with a district purchase order for the conference registration?

    • Yes.  Paying with a purchase order is considered payment with Ohio and will not impede student participation in competitions.  

  • May students register for the conference and competitions even if our school has not completed the payment for membership?

    • Only active / paid student members may register for the conference.

  • Is there lunch provided both days?

    • Yes. Capital University has a wonderful student dining hall where there are many options including foods for those with dietary restrictions. There will be three “rounds” of scheduled lunch times to accommodate students competing on Day 1 and attending Professional Development on Day 2. Your chapter will be assigned lunch times prior to attending the conference.

  • How should students dress for conference & competitions?

    • Students attending and competing should be dressed in business casual attire. Conference T-shirts are appropriate for Friday events as an option.

  • Where can I find the Competition General Protocols and Competition Categories?

  • Where can I find the competition and contest guidelines?

  • Must all competition materials be submitted ahead of time by February 2, 2024?

  • Some of the pre-judged competitions require video submission. How do I do that?

    • Submit videos and materials using the Slayte platform (Available in December).

    • Videos will be shared with judges through the same platform.

  • How do I submit any documents required in the pre-judged competition categories?

    • Submit materials using the Slayte platform (Available in December).

  • Is there a theme required for the Children’s Literature competition?

    • No. Students may write their book on any topic they choose. Follow the competition guidelines.
